-The Hunchback of Notre Dame
What a great great great 4 day weekend in Sevilla! Sevilla is such a beautiful city! I was so excited when I saw palm trees there, reminded me on nice, hot, beachy, Florida weather!! Leaving @ 1am was definitely interesting. 4 of the girls were un poco LATE- running through the metro station, running to the bus, but luckily the bus didnt leave until like 1:05am. AND WE ALL MADE IT TO SEVILLA THIS TIME!!!! QUE SUERTE!!!! When we arrived in Sevilla, it was about 7am. We looked for the bus and then found our way to our hostel, which was pretty much directly across from the big cathedral there! Such a great location! We checked into the hostel and looked for our room on the 3rd floor with bunk beds! However once we all walked up the small spiral staircase, we realized that we didn't have a door... intereesting. But we had lockers and keys and of course the trusty lock for my suitcase! We slept when we got there and then wandered around Sevilla, to the Jardines de Murillo, catedral, many little stores, and of course food! We went to a restaurant farther away from the city when we were wandering. Later we bought tickets for a Flamenco show @ Los Gallos for Saturday night. Friday night, we went to a few local bars and Catedral Club and Buddha!
Saturday we did more wandering and had a long lunch at a cute restaurant. We ordered traditional Gazpacho which was soooo good! We felt like Spaniards because we ate and talked for like 3 hours. Later we went back to the hostel to get ready for our Flamenco show! Our show was at 8pm and it was sooo amazing! My first flamenco show and it was definitely worth it. I can't wait to compare the other flamenco show we're going to in Madrid with CEA. After the show, one of the guitarristas and cantantes told us to meet them back after their next show so they could go out with us, which was interesting.... We went to a few bars and then went back and one of the singers aunt's died so they didnt go out with us, but told us to meet the next night. On a lighter note, we watched the Real Madrid game vs. Athletico and Real Madrid won 3-2!
Sunday we did more walking around and went to Plaza de Espana, which was gorgeous! We also rented a cyclo bus for a half hour and got all crazy on that. Later we got some more lunch and then got some drinks to make at our hostel later. We all bought shirts in Sevilla that said dos cervezas with a peace sign so we wore those and went on a "PUB CRAWL". We met up with the guitarrista Luis later that night and went to this awesome bar. They had really long benches over the whole bar. We sat in a spot and started talking to some people from Australia, France and Spain! I love meeting people from all over, it's so cool! Anyways, we got back later that night and then had to leave @ 9:30am for our 10:30am Bus back to Madrid.
This weekend we are leaving for Cordoba and then meeting up in Granada on Saturday with CEA! It's just starting to get colder here... :[ I'm not used to 50 degree weather... its so nice going south and getting 70's! But 2 more days of school this week, cant wait for them to be over- Look out for some postcards coming your way!
AYYYYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! :]
